I’d Rather Go Naked than Fur is PETA’s most iconic campaign but mostly remembered because Naomi Campbell now wears fur bringing the issue of PETA’s hypocrisy to the mainstream press. There is nothing less original in advertising that using the naked bodies of models to sell a product. There is nothing less successful as a campaign method than using the bodies of naked women. It isn’t clever or subversive. It’s just the same old objectification of women’s bodies for the wanking pleasure of creepy old men. It only serves to reinforce rape culture. It does nothing to prevent the abuse of animals.
